From the results of research by the author (1995, 1997, 1999, 2002) showed that most math teachers are implementing traditional mathematics learning, i.e. learning mathematics by relying on a single method expository with the cycle: explaining, giving examples, asking questions and giving the task in the classical style. With this method then the math teachers have difficulty in: 1) serve various needs / demands of the students in learning mathematics, 2) encourage underachieving students to improve academic achievement, 3) encourage students to learn actively, 4) use and develop mathematical and props 5) encourage students to learn through collaboration.

Through action research, researchers have the opportunity to develop teaching methods in order to overcome the difficulties mentioned above. Development of teaching methods Cockroft Report refers to the recommendation which states that at every level of mathematics learning should be a vehicle for teachers to be able to realize the selection of one or more dynamic and flexible methods: (1) Method of Exposition, (2) Method of discussion, (3) Method Giving exercises and tasks, (4) Method of discovery, (5) Method of Problem Solving, (6) Usage Viewer Tool

In general, teachers have sought to develop a learning method in accordance with the purpose of action research; but teachers experiencing technical difficulties, academic and fundamental. Technical difficulties of teachers in developing teaching methods are the necessary tools or learning facilities are not avalaible. Academic difficulties teachers in developing teaching methods are not incompatibility perceptions of teachers about mathematical learning model with the meaning of learning model according to the theory referred to.

Teachers can make efforts to increase quality of learning mathematics through the development of ways / methods to meet various needs / demands of academic students, encourage students to learn actively, encourage students to learn to cooperate, and try to start developing a learning tool using modern technology.

Teachers' efforts in meeting the academic demands of a wide range of students, encourage students to improve achievement of low achievers, encourages students to learn actively, and encourage students to learn through collaboration, can be done by:
a. Developing Student Worksheet (LKS)
b. Formation of study groups
c. Development of methods of class discussions / group
d. Development of visual aids and media education.
