SBC (School Based Curriculum) is the operational
curriculum developed and implemented by each educational unit. SBC as a
manifestation of primary and secondary education curriculum is developed
according to their relevance by any group or committee of the education unit
and school / madrasah under the coordination and supervision of the local
education office of the Department of Religious District / City for basic
education and secondary education to the province based on Content Standards
Graduates and Competency Standards and preparing curriculum guides compiled by
BSNP.
Assuming that teacher is the one who know most about the developmental level of students, individual differences of students, absorptive capacity, the atmosphere in the learning activities, as well as facilities and resources available, then in the curriculum the teacher has the authority to define and develop curriculum in the syllabus. Curriculum development in this syllabus should be based on several things, among them: the content, the concepts, skills / skills, problems, and student interest.
SBC was developed based on the following principles:
•
centered on the potential, development, needs and interests of learners and
their environment.
•
diverse and integrated
•
responsive to the development of science, technology and art
•
relevant to the needs of life
•
comprehensive and sustainable
•
long-life learning
•
balance between national interests and regional interests
Syllabus is an elaboration of standards of competence and basic competence in subject matter, learning activities, and indicators of achievement of competency for assessment. Syllabus developed by the principle: Scientific, Relevant, Systematically, Consistent, Insufficient, Actual and Contextual, Flexible, and Comprehensive.
Syllabus Development steps are:
1.
Assessing the Competence Standard and Basic Competence
2.
Identifying Main Content
3. Developing
Learning Experience
4. Formulating
Indicators of Success Learning
5.
Determination of Types of Assessment
6.
Determining the Time Allocation
7.
Determining the Source of Learning
In
implementation, syllabus is explained at lesson plan, implemented, evaluated,
and acted by each teacher. Syllabus must be studied and developed in a
sustainable manner with due regard to the input of learning outcome evaluation,
the evaluation process (the implementation of learning), and evaluation of
learning plans.
