Yogyakarta State University towards World Class University is the work done by Yogyakarta State University and all components and civitas academic organizations to realize the international standard of excellence in the field of Teaching and Education Programs, Research and Publication, as well as the Organization and Management Education. Realizing the Yogyakarta State University to be a World Class University who has a work culture system that meets international standards in implementing the Tridharma Perguruan Tinggi so as to produce quality graduates and excel in a global world. Planning and programs implementation prepare and encourage the accomplishment of YSU as WCU. The process and outcome accountability to locally, nationally and internationally stakeholders. Continuity (on going activity) to continue and cultivate the process and results have been achieved. Task Force was formed consisting of various disciplines, committed and experienced in the field of development pilot program of World Class University.

Activities that have been implemented in 2009 were: Delivery lecturers to follow short-course teaching content through Classic; Planting MoU foreign universities; Development WCU web site; Preparation of an international pilot study program; Development of student learning assessment instrument bilingual classes; Development of content special education web site math and accounting education; international research publications; Exchange of students of international class with overseas partners; English course for faculty and students; Writing an article for the publication of an international research; Preparation of model / handouts supporting international class lectures; Development methods and models of classroom learning international English Language Training for administrative staff and comparative studies; Provision of stimulants on classroom lectures internationally; international seminar on the WCU; National Seminar and Workshop on SBI / RSBI; Procurement of new reference books for the international class; Development and production of an international curriculum; and Use of guest lecturers from abroad to provide stadium general.

YSU leading to an international university has been implementing various programs in year 2 (two). The programs are developed off potential activities that have been owned, either individually or institutionally, to strengthen institutional YSU towards the international level (WCU).
